Our First Olive Town Preview!

It’s almost time for Olive Town! For fans waiting patiently for the game, we’ll be doing our best to bring previews from now until release on March 23rd (NA) and March 26th (Europe). To start off our preview series, let’s go over some of the first things you’ll encounter during your first Spring in Olive Town!

The first thing you’ll see is the difficulty mode, which is pretty self explanatory. If you’re not certain, you won’t need to worry too much as you can swap freely between difficulties at any time. Then it’s time to customize your farmer! You’ll have a wealth of options to change even just starting out, with a wide selection of combinations to make your character unique, even down to their idle stance. That’s not all though, as you’ll get to set the default color of your ride into Olive Town as well! All of this can be changed later, so if you’re mostly just wanting to get started, just go with what feels best and worry about it later.

When you finally do make it to Olive Town, however, you’ll find the farm a little more worse for wear than in previous games. You’ll mostly be starting from scratch, working to build your new home and restore the few still-standing structures on your land. It may sound a bit dire, but fortunately there’s more than enough resources to start establishing yourself. If you find yourself wearing thin from the strain of pioneering, a little pick-me-up at one of the local eateries should help keep you going well into the night… or at least until the 2 AM limit.

Before your first week is through you’ll have met new faces, made some friends, gotten some fishing in, picked up some new skills, and before you know it this old, abandoned farmland will start to feel like a real home. Who’s to say what will happen in the next week?
