While Popuri is one of the characters that feels like she changed the least in her transition from Flowerbud Village to Mineral Town, the biggest difference ends up being how her family treats her.
Category: Character Focus
Then and now: Doctor
Okay, so this one is going to be pretty difficult because... Doctor isn’t in Harvest Moon 64! At all!
Then and now: Elli
Elli is a fairly old fashioned nurse, but there are very specific changes to the details of her outfit that help highlight her new role.
Then and now: Rick
In 64, Rick is an inventor and a direct descendant of Ann from the original SNES game who he shares a lot of qualities with. From the laid back attitude to the love of inventing for the sake of inventing, it was obvious where he belonged. Then, suddenly, he and Popuri were poultry farmers.
Then and now: Karen
To begin with, the most obvious change is the loss of Karen’s trademark blonde bangs
Then and Now: Ann
Unlike Elli or Mary, Ann is one of the characters who probably changed the most between Flowerbud and Mineral Town.
Denizens of Flower Bud: Ann
The daughter of Hall, sister of Gray, and granddaughter of the original SNES game’s Ann. She doesn’t inherit much of that inventor knack for machines though.
Denizens of Flower Bud: Popuri
Before the mountain bridge is built in the first winter she still manages to climb her way up to meet the old couple at their dumpling restaurant, and is willing to go to dangerous lengths for a rare flower. She’s certainly Basil’s daughter alright... far from being simply “the flower girl,” Popuri could be a flower adventurer!
Denizens of Flower Bud: Karen
Karen is a brash, sharp tongued young woman who’s probably most infamously known for her unquenchable thirst for liquor, which she seems to take to any time she’s being put into a bad mood... which is basically every day
Denizens of Flower Bud: Maria
When she’s not holed up in her library, she could be found teaching the local kids about insects, cooking fish with Elli, or exploring Moon Mountain on her own. In time, she’ll become just as friendly with the player, even overcoming her fear of dogs and attending the Dog Race festival for the first time just to cheer yours on.
