The Town is a Character Too (and why Rival Marriage is important)
While we mostly loved the recent remake, one of the gripes we mentioned in our Friends of Mineral Town review last month was the loss of rival marriages. This is a relatively minor negative for Friends of Mineral Town in particular due to the nature of the system in the original game, where a lot … Continue reading The Town is a Character Too (and why Rival Marriage is important)
Something Special: Igusa Matsuyama Interviewed by Ranch Story Community!
As a fan of Story of Seasons since the earliest days in Flowerbud Village, I have always adored the artwork of Igusa Matsuyama, who has helped make the worlds of Bokumono feel so alive, colorful, vibrant and filled with characters who I adore so much. Thatโs why, today, Iโm especially delighted to bring a rare treat: Thanks to the collaboration of several of our communityโs members doing translations, submitting questions, and providing guidance; I present a brief interview with the artist themselves!
Harvest Moon: 64 and the Missing Festivals
Snow Festivals are held annually in Japan and usually span over a few days. People build statues out of snow that turn into ice sculptures around the area of the festival, and people enjoy treats from vendors.
Harvest Moon Origins, Part 1: Harvest Moon 64
Some of the unused items in Harvest Moon: 64 are extraordinarily familiar, mainly because they appeared in later games in some shape or form. Weโll be going through some of the items, tools and gameplay additions that were shelved before the gameโs official release - and their appearance later in the series.
Harvest Moon 64’s Vegetable Festival was Educational!
When playing Harvest Moon: 64, did you ever feel like you might be learning something? You were right.
Denizens of Flower Bud: Ann
The daughter of Hall, sister of Gray, and granddaughter of the original SNES gameโs Ann. She doesnโt inherit much of that inventor knack for machines though.
Denizens of Flower Bud: Popuri
Before the mountain bridge is built in the first winter she still manages to climb her way up to meet the old couple at their dumpling restaurant, and is willing to go to dangerous lengths for a rare flower. Sheโs certainly Basilโs daughter alright... far from being simply โthe flower girl,โ Popuri could be a flower adventurer!
Denizens of Flower Bud: Karen
Karen is a brash, sharp tongued young woman whoโs probably most infamously known for her unquenchable thirst for liquor, which she seems to take to any time sheโs being put into a bad mood... which is basically every day
Denizens of Flower Bud: Maria
When sheโs not holed up in her library, she could be found teaching the local kids about insects, cooking fish with Elli, or exploring Moon Mountain on her own. In time, sheโll become just as friendly with the player, even overcoming her fear of dogs and attending the Dog Race festival for the first time just to cheer yours on.
